THE TRAİNİNG COURSE FOR THE CANDİDATES FOR THE POSİTİON OF JUDGE İS ENRİCHED WİTH NEW TOPİCS

As part of the measures taken to improve judicial activity under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Ilham Aliyev, transparent selection of candidates for the post of judge continues. Currently, 44 successful candidates have been involved in a training course at the Academy of Justice to be prepared for the post. Important and actual topics are studied in these courses with the participation of influential local and international experts. They are expected to undergo internships in courts, as well as in foreign countries to learn international experience.

The candidate`s curriculum includes a number of topical issues, including those related to the ethical behaviour rules and deontology of the judges.

İssues of ethical conduct of judges play an important role in improving judicial activity. To this end, on June 22, 2007, the Judicial-Legal Council adopted a Code of Ethical Conduct that regulates specific ethics and ethical requirements for judges, their professional ethics, and non-professional behaviour. By the Presidential Decree "On Deepening of Reforms in the Judicial-Legal System" of April 3, 2019, the Judicial-Legal Council is tasked with ensuring the inevitability of the disciplinary responsibility of judges violating this Code.

A three-day training course on "Internal Skills Development" was held with the Academy of Ethics at the Academy of Justice, with a special emphasis on teaching ethical issues with the candidates for the position of judge.

The opening highlighted the importance of training for the candidates` internal skills development, their ability to master high standards of behaviour and impact mechanisms.

The presentation of Gunel Ibrahim, the HR Specialist of ICM Institute of Great Britain and trainer-lawyer on etiquette and high standards was heard at the event.

Candidates were taught the techniques of dress code, protocol speech, diction, oratory, vocabulary enhancement, memory exercises and stress durability.

Candidates interested in interactive sessions during the training participated in several visual sessions, mastered techniques for developing internal skills, specific short formulas and impact techniques on the scientists` latest inventions, and learned about self-motivated subjects in the stress-resistance category.
